Pain?

Here we are again Christmas day night,comes and goes,you might wander what that has got to do with the title,well so do i. Na not really gonna bring up something i was not going to bring up but changed my mind by something i saw on enstyle which is a fashion( ahh that word again.) website i am part of..
One of the girls posted a look,she looked lovely,and came from a very obviously affluent background in the USA and the Title of her look was bring on the pills baby,i can bring the pain.don't mean jack shit does it but it resonated on chord with in me so i am gonna spit it out.
I could tell her about lying in a bed,and your whole existence is filled with three things,three things your world.
one of them being totally immobile.not even to make a sound
another is right in front of you on the wall is a clock that tells the time,it,s gotta min hand so you can watch the seconds tick down
and the third is pain,so shockingly unbelievably painful you would have to experience it to get any handle on what it,s like and truly you don't want that..
So you see i could tell her about lying on a bed in a world of pain watching the seconds tick by knowing to the second when they will give me some more morphine to dull the pain a bit and also knowing that the relief gained will be short lived even shorter than the last one because the body is learning to cope with the chemicals and adjusts  and also knowing that they can not up the dose because you are on the maximum allowed they told me
I could tell her but i am not going to,live and learn
That was a very bad time in my life and it profoundly changed me for the better i might add,because i like myself now and i did not before that time
I had throat cancer my chances of getting through were stacked against me but i,m still here and loving,and living life  seven years later
Any way enough maybe i will come back to this,hope not

I make CLOTHES

Funny title but it will become clear mayhaps what is meant I have made a very lovely 3/4 length coat today complete with hood and bell sleeves and it,s for me. now all i have got to do is make it in the physical world that you lot inhabit and i visit from time to time probable gonna take a mite longer but it will be worth waiting for.

Where as Fashion is aspirational,fantasy,visionary,content rich,artistic,well i say this is the biggest load of bollocks i have read in a long time and it is taught to fashion design students need i say more.. I will continue to make Clothes for people to wear and enjoy. Is this dull

well that,s proved it somebody whom i have not bludgeoned into it has read my blog,well it,s a start even if they did tell me i have got to do more to improve my on site presence. i am trying.
Anyway that means the blogging and the enstyle fashion site is starting to show results,And tonight i have applied to open a on line boutique we will see how that goes .

Holiday
well i am on paid holiday until the 2nd of Jan,that means i am getting paid for not working . Yea i know you know but it is a bit of a novelty for me as this is the first paid holiday i have had since 1990. Since then i have been self employed so no body paid me big big sob boohoo.And strange tho it may be but the world just keeps going around because the company that paid my holidays all them years ago is the same one that is paying me this time,goes around come around.
Well what am i going to do with this time,well i shall be making clothes i have got blooming loads planned,just gotta curb my enthusiasm abit and get stuck in suspend the thinking na that will not work i am already working on a dress and it is three garments away yet,so it,s coat,yellow suit? dress mayhaps
I really hope i am doing this right,but then it does not matter because i am enjoying life so much. And in with this lot i shall be posting looks on enstyle,so i suppose i better get a move on,fun,fun,fun
And this Fri evening coming i am going to a TV,s function in Torquay not really my scene but one of my clients is insisting on taking me so i,m going let you know how it goes.

It,s Good to be Loved

Yep cheesy init but it is true,let me explain how this has come about and how amazing it is that i even care.
Well after discovering a talent for making clothes true to form i jump in with both feet hold my nose and open a on line shop whence i discover that designing and making  the clothes is the easy part and i soon discover i am missing a lot of skills skills i might add that i had previously had no interest in and even actively avoided.So i set about finding out what these skills i needed where and one of them was to build a on line personality which i have started to do  and i might add being the person i used to be i found at the beginning quite no very hard and made several false starts but i kept at it and i think i am starting to see thro the mud.
I opened a face book page and played around with that still not knowing really what i was doing,then opened a fan page and left it at that really,joined some craft forums and then i seemed to run out of steam,and sorta just concentrated on making clothes.
Well then out of the blue i got this email from the ceo of enstyle asking me as a fashion designer if i would like to join their site.So i thought yea give it a go so i logged on to the site had a quick look around and filled the profile in and uploaded a few looks.
Over the next couple of days i thought about it more and more and thought no this is wrong because the site is full of very lovely boys and girls mainly girls all young and lovely and i am not young and i am a acquired taste shall we say. So i emailed enstyle to ask if i was doing it right and what they wanted and the reply i got back was disheartening to say the least,it went no we wanted you to put your designs and creations on your fan page and they would take them from there. Big whoops.
Well i sorta hung my head in embarrassment and slunk away trying to forget the whole thing,imagining every body laughing at me.
All went quite for a few days and then out of the blue i started to get notifications that people liked my look and i had picked up a few followers,so they where not laughing after all ,i am now posting looks as often as i can and i am enjoying it no end,and enstyle send out emails saying it,s good to be loved and they are so very right.
There will be more on this i am sure

Missed that One 2

Well to carry on from yesterday and how i was still without a coat even tho i had just made a lovely one,well this morning that conumdrum sorted it self out rather nicely. I have been pondering how ,and with what to make a coat for myself,well this morning i got a email from a lady with whom i have been trying to fix up a date,whilst i was reading the mail pop into my mind eye appeared  my coat in colour,and i have even got the fabric

Missed that One

Hey back again,harder than it looks this writing a blog thee knows.
I have just completed making the most gorgeous mid calf frock coat and it does not fit me

Let me explain i have been wanting to make myself  a winter coat for a while now and well i know in my head what i want and i have been looking,well i got offered this fabric which is wool with silk and taffeta patches sewn on lovely but i was not sure i wanted it for myself but i bough and decided to make 2 coats different designs one i had done before and one new,well i have struggled bringing these coats to fruition shall we say in fact they are pieces not garments,now that i have finished one and stood back and looked at it,wah! its lovely and i wish it were mine but don't fit and cant make it fit.
The point is when i decide to make something it is usual for me to see what it will look like when it is finished but not how i get there,instinctive methinks.

Clothes and all that Goes with Them

I am making a pair of lovely coats and when i have finished them i will post a picture or two here, well i have been working on them today and it struck me as how the clothes we wear cements and fortifies our conceptions and prejudices, I am a new comer to taking any care of what i wear and well my mother if she where alive just would not believe what her own eyes where seeing.
For example last week i was down the town and went in to a well known clothing retailer and picked out a lovely jumper that i had had my eye on and it was down in price so i thought i will have that so i picked it up went to try it on in the changing rooms to be told three times that it was a ladies jumper which i was well aware of because most of my clothes are ladies sizes because i fit very nicely into either a 10 or a 8 and quite frankly male clothing is boring which i am trying to remedy.Check out my shopwww.etsy.com/shop/glenvilles
Well got the jumper in the end but the assistant just would not have it that's what i wanted,it has happened before,i shall come back to this another time methinks

Funny Old Thing

Struck me today that this ere Internet thingy has changed  my life nearly out of recognition.Let us go back aways to when i first came into contact with it,well back then i was a partner in a engineering business making a living for ourselves and employing people and we decided to get a computer to aid the bus sines so we got one and did we know what todo with it no not at all in fact all we did with it was basic book keeping and look at porn on the internet\
Well time moved on i moved on came to a shuddering halt for a little while whilst my world came crashing down i was ill with cancer,touch and go but i have left that behind and i think it would be fair to say that it changed me some what
In fact you probably would have to know me to appreciate how much it has changed me,and as i was a very misarble bastard not a lot of people did,i did not like myself,but know i am pretty fine and funky.
But in this present time i am a talented clothing maker,i publish pictures of myself with different style clothing ,i write a blog i relate to  people and most of it is done on my laptop over the Internet and i am getting better at it all the time.Life is a funny old business best not taken to seriously

Sexy Suit

well back again methinks i will tell about my latest clothing creation,it,s also a bit of a expose of my personality and what makes me tick.
Well a client of mine whom i have made several garments for asked me to make her a plain black shorty jacket and that was her only stipulation
I sourced the material bought enough plus a bit as is my way,i had it in my head what the jacket was going to look the only mystery was how i got there as once i am set to go i do not think about it over much and pretty much let all my learning take over,made the templates,cut the fabric and i started to pin the fabric  together i looked at it and thought gosh and golly plain init,well i don,t do plain so i thought i would add a bit of red ribbon between the seams a bit like pipping but not. Well i did it and it was a little bit fiddly but gottit in the end and dang me it looked pretty dam good but needed just a bit more,so i top stitched either side of the seam and that's it.

Well i made the jacket and when i had it finished i though gotta have a skirt to go with this so i made a rather lovely skirt to go with. So my client ended up with a jacket and a skirt very much not plain but she adores it and she still wants a plain jacket.I am going to try and post a picture with this.
